Sky Digibox Software Updates

Many people have found it beneficial to update the software in their Digibox and this has extended to claims about improved operation of the receiver once the upgrade has been completed.
To update your software, you must ensure that you have a VERY GOOD signal. A weak signal and/or corrupted upgrade can render your Digibox a lump of scrap metal.

1. Unplug the receiver from the mains power-supply. Next wait for a few minutes before going to step two and do ensure you wait a couple of minutes - NOT seconds

2. Press and hold in the BACK-UP button on the front panel of the receiver - KEEP IT HELD IN whilst plugging the receiver back into the mains supply.

3. Continue to hold in the back-up button until all four of the indicators light up and a screen appears informing you that an upgrade is about to take place - you can now release the back-up button.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions and that will tell you that such an upgrade can take as long as ten minutes, so don't do this just before you want to watch a programme. DO NOT TOUCH THE BOX, alter anything, or unplug it, otherwise your Digibox could be rendered useless.

When the upgrade is complete, the indicators will return to the normal 'standby' mode. If the upgrade doesn't happen just start again.
